RECIPE: Horse Gram (Gahat) Idlis
INGREDIENTS
3 cups brown rice / idli rice
0.5 cup SaveAGram horse gram
0.5 tsp SaveAGram fenugreek/methi seeds
METHOD
Soak rice and horse gram overnight, separately.
An hour before grinding, add fenugreek seeds to the rice to soak.
Drain horse gram and grind.
Drain rice and fenugreek seeds, and grind.
Mix altogether and keep at room temperature for about 7 hours to ferment.
After fermentation, add water to adjust consistency if required.
Pour batter into idly cooker and steam for about 10 minutes.
